Moisturizing is a key step in eliminating dry skin, combating wrinkles, and making makeup application look and feel flawless. With so many benefits, it's no surprise that the skincare market is saturated with moisturizers, from lightweight serums to rich cremes — and perhaps most interesting — those targeting a specific time of day. We need to take a closer look at why overnight moisturizers are especially important for maintaining youthful-looking, healthy skin. Scientific research has shown that new skin cells grow faster while you sleep, so a good evening facial routine that takes advantage of this renewing cycle is key. At night, the goal is to repair damage from the day's pollution, sun and stress, as well as to hydrate. You lose more water from your skin during your night’s sleep than you do during the day because you are not rehydrating (especially if you have had a glass of wine or two). Using a good night moisturizer will take advantage of this time of repair and renewal plus provide the needed hydration that keeps your facial skin from drying out during the night. A good night cream should should have more powerful emollients and humectants, which are known to penetrate into the skin slower than the ones in a daytime moisturizer. This does not mean, however, that a good nighttime moisturizer has to be greasy. Since exfoliation is important while sleeping, a nighttime moisturizer should also have a rich concentration of natural exfoliants, while daytime moisturizers usually have less. A nighttime moisturizer should also have a richer concentration of anti-aging ingredients to take advantage of the renewing sleep process.” Here's a look at top ingredients to make sure your overnight moisturizer checks out: • Contains Shea Butter, Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Argan Oil, Carrot Oil, and/or Squalane. These emollients and humectants work over a long period of time, which is ideal for overnight use. • Contains effective but gentle exfoliants like fruit enzymes and natural retinol. • Includes antioxidants and pollution-removing actives such as Coenzyme Q10, alpha lipoic acid and vitamins C and E to repair the day's exposure. • Features a suite of anti-aging actives: niacinamide, peptides for collagen building, plant stem cell derivatives and natural human stem cell derivatives (such as growth factors, cytokines, and helping peptides) will offer increased epidermal cell production and collagen growth. • Added bonus! Includes Sea Algae Extract, Green/Black/White Tea Extracts, Gotu Kola Extract. These actives tighten and firm skin. Stemology offers a full range of skincare products including Cell Renew Hydro-Plus Overnight Moisturizer. The brand’s products are all-natural and efficacious thanks to proprietary stem cell technology allowing for the inclusion of an ethically sourced stem cell elixir (with no actual stem cells or DNA). These unique, growth-enhancing secretions, along with the related performance-enhancing ingredients, are uniquely designed for use in Stemology anti-aging skin care products. An expert research scientist and research engineer, Dr. Simeroth’s career has spanned more than 40 years including experience at both the scientific researcher level and at the director and vice president of research level.
